The complex labor market makes it challenging for teens, young adults, and women.

Teenagers usually lack a formal work history, and most employers prefer to hire people with experience. However, with a little help through early work experiences (part-time and in the summer), teens can gain valuable opportunities such as learn new skills, gain experience, expand their networks, and develop positive relationships with adults.

Young adults need the necessary and helpful services that support connecting them to the labor market. A caring adult and assistance with transportation are key areas. Young adults work in a fairly mixed environment of part-time and full-time jobs. Industries with adequate entry-level job openings and significant labor market demand can usually be a good target for young adults.

On the other hand, increases employment and career aspirations by women lead to economic independence. Participation by women in employment increases the labor force, changes in economies, and creates a stable environment. Despite increased participation by women in the labor market, they are still less likely to be in the workforce than men.
